Introduction

COMME des GARCONS 1985 – 1990

Exciting menswear in Vancouver is rare. I often rely on ebay for my next favourite purchase, secondhand clothes from Comme des Garcons Homme Plus.  Overtime, I have been saving imagines from the net, purchases I wish I could afford but only dream of wearing some day. I want to learn as much as I can in order to make clothes for myself someday, and maybe I can work in Comme des Garcons too!

My aim is to research the designs of my favourite fashion brand, Comme des Garcons Homme Plus. Designer Rei Kawakubo created the line and presented her first show in 1985, Paris. Simply put, Homme Plus is experiemental.

I am interested in comparing, contrasting and noting the differences between concepts, details, fabrics, colors, and techniques. What excites me is how traditional tailoring is subverted.
